Painted pinecones can make a festive decoration for any event. Hang them as ornaments with a bit of string, display them in a bowl or configure them onto a wreath. Here are a few tips for painting pinecones:
- Make sure pinecones are dry and relatively clean before painting. Inevitably, there will be some remaining dirt on your cones, but wipe them down lightly with your fingers or a dry towel and remove loose bits of pine needles or leaves.
- For easy spray-painting, we hung our pinecones from a clothes hanger with craft wire, and then hooked the hanger onto a low tree branch. Wire keeps pinecones from spinning and moving too much while applying spray paint.
- Let painted pinecones dry on the hanger, remove and enjoy!
